In this workshop you will have the opportunity to take a pair of pre-loved jeans and other materials, to sew a unique bag to take home! You will have the opportunity to use a sewing machine (no experience required) as well as using hand crafting techniques to create your own, one-of-a-kind bag.

Raffia Basket Weaving with Studio Fizz
Learn how to make a basket using the ancient art of circular weaving with Artist Emily Greenman. In this 1.5 hr workshop, Emily will teach you how to use natural and colourful Raffia and simple wrapping techniques to create a simple trinket or plant holder. This is a calm and mindful activity for beginners, with all materials provided, you will be taught the techniques to continue your craft beyond the workshop.

Floral Crowns with Folly & Bird

Led by the talented florist Fiona McKeown, you’ll be surrounded by a vibrant array of dried and faux flowers—each bursting with colour and ready to be woven into a stunning, wearable masterpiece. Hanging Pennant
Join Marianne from Form In Fabric, to hand sew your own hanging pennant for your tent/van and take home as a reminder of Deer Shed 2026!
You'll have a choice of pre-sewn pennant shapes to choose from in fun fabrics, then you'll hand sew your own decorations on top. Words, monograms, hearts, stars, tassels and trim - all materials provided, you just bring the creativity!
Depending on your sewing experience and the complexity of your design, you may not finish your pendant in the workshop, but everyone will take their needle, threads and inspiration away to finish later. Please note, you will need reasonable hand/finger mobility and eyesight for this activity. Remember to bring your glasses if you wear them!

Japanese Sashiko Style sewing Hoop by
Join Marianne from Form in Fabric, to hand sew your own Japanese Sashiko-inspired hanging hoop.
Sashiko is the ancient Japanese technique of visibly mending textiles by adding decorative hand stitching, thereby strengthening the finished item and adding to its story. Simple straight stitches combined in intricate nature-inspired patterns add personality to our belongings.
Choose from a range of templates (or create your own), pick your colour palette, and fill your shape with fabric scraps, buttons, and simple stitches in interesting patterns (examples provided). You may not finish your hoop in the workshop, but everyone will take their hoop, needle, threads, and inspiration to finish later. All materials are provided.

Lumi Pom Poms
Make your encampment shine with your very own creation! During this session you will be provided with all you need, including expert guidance to make a wonderful set of pompom lights to adorn the inside of your tent or van. Choose from a selection of brightly coloured wool and learn how to create pompoms using a special tool which you then get to take home! Enjoy this relaxed session with like-minded crafters. You’ll soon be hooked!

From Fibre to Fob
In this playful and tactile workshop, attendees combine a cotton real, wool, decorative beads, and a pompom accent to design their own personalised key ring. A relaxing and beginner-friendly craft experience focused on creativity and self-expression.
Owl on the Move
Transform a simple shoebox lid into a colourful tree scene. By inserting pegs up the trunk and attaching an owl to a small stick, create a clever moving mechanism that allows the owl to "climb" down the tree. A fun blend of art, storytelling, and simple engineering.

A cosy craft workshop, where old, tired books become sweet hedgehog sculptures. Participants will learn simple page-folding techniques to shape their hedgehog, then personalise it with soft felt ears, eyes, and a nose for a heart-warming handmade finish.
Mask Making Masquerade
Step into the magic of The Labyrinth Masquerade Ball Mask Making Workshop!
Create vibrant masks with feathers, glitter, and colourful papers, then join the Saturday evening Masquerade in the Big Top. Enjoy interactive fun, role-play, storytelling, and a screening of Labyrinth. Take your mask home as a keepsake!
Shred the Cardboard!
If air guitaring to our line-up is just not cutting the mustard, then make your very own guitar out of cardboard! Have fun customising it, fix a strap on it, then sling it over your shoulder and rock out with it.
The Ball Tunnel Mission
A fun and interactive building workshop where simple recycled materials become an action-packed ball tunnel. Participants can construct ramps, curves, and obstacles from cardboard and toilet rolls, then put their designs to the test in a rolling-ball challenge.
Mini Maze Makers
Get ready to become a mini engineer! A workshop where you can transform a cardboard box and straws into your very own ball maze. Plan, build, and test your creation - or better still, set the challenge for others to try and beat the Maze. We have given ours a retro, Pac-Man theme, collecting or loosing points as you work your way through the maze, but you can invent your own themes and rules.

Get creative and craft something beautiful at our hands-on Fabric Heart & Tassel workshop! In this fun, relaxing session, design and sew your own charming fabric heart, then finish them off with a decorative tassel – perfect as a keepsake, gift or hanging ornament.

Get hands-on and game ready in this playful crafting session where you will turn simple materials - a cardboard box, elastic band and bottle tops - into a fast-paced sling puck game. With a flick, a stretch, and a bit of skill, you'll be sending pucks flying through the goal gap in no time!
Drag Car Racing
Get ready to design, build and race your very own balloon-powered car! In this hands-on activity, explore and experiment with air power and motion to create cars that zoom across the floor. Once complete go and put it to the test on the Deer Shed racetrack.
Eco-Glam Hanging Art
Create a dazzling hanging mobile using upcycled CD's, sparkling beads, stick on gems, and decorative wire! In this fun, hands-on workshop, you'll design your own shimmering piece of art that catches the light and brings colour to any room, inside or out. Perfect for all ages and skill levels - just bring your creativity and get ready to sparkle!
The Great Cable Tie Spider
Some believe that a festival isn't possible without Gaffer tape and cable ties! This year we are using the simple cable tie to create a fun activity for all the family to enjoy. Cut out a simple body, decorate, stick on googly eyes (whether you make your spider scary or cute is up to you). Finally insert eight legs, take a straw, blow down on the spider and watch it scurry across the table.
Vintage Wood Art
Inspired by driftwood artwork, this year the folk at Deer Shed have sourced hundreds of bespoke pieces of wood, all with history, if not directly from the sea.
All unique and perfect to use as a blank canvas to create your own beautiful pieces of art.
Palm Pets
What a great way to recycle worn out clothes and blankets, with this delightful sewing activity. Whether you make a cat, dog, rabbit or tiny teddy bear, this is the project for all those who wish to improve their simple sewing stitches - take time to practise your whip stitch, running stitch, blanket stitch and back stitch, in this calm, supportive workshop.
CD Banjo Jam
A workshop inspired by the fabulous Falkirk-based, Folk Punk Band - Brogeal (and the fact that we have acquired a huge amount of CDs!) Join us for a hands-on CD Banjo Jam! In this creative, family-friendly workshop, you'll turn everyday materials - cardboard, CDs, string, and a splash of imagination - into your own mini banjo to take along to the Lodge Stage and strum along with your favourite bands.
