Tribal Identity Cards
Inspired by the old card game Happy families here is the opportunity to design, draw and watercolour your own Motif for each member of your festival family. Whether you decide to draw caricatures of your members or create your own tribal name and fictional characters is up to you. A lovely way to kick start the festival vibe.

Weaving Project
Come together, get creative and help us build something beautiful - one strand at a time. We're inviting all festival goers to take part in a shared weaving project, using a mix of materials, from yarn and fabric scraps to ribbon, twine and even natural elements like grasses and feathers.

Notebook Creations
Looking for a notebook that’s sustainable, stylish and perfect for keeping notes, sketches all those wonderful ideas and designs for your next project? Then this is the workshop for you. Made from a range of upcycled card and paper learn how to make your own unique book.

Moshi Mates
Create, stitch and play – the perfect sewing activity for children of all ages. Use our template and a range of upcycled materials to sew an adorable plushie playmate. A delightful way to spark creativity.

With a touch of creativity and skill, you can transform an ordinary stone into your very own low maintenance guinea pig. Using our acrylic pens choose your colours and get creative. Decorate a box add some straw – viola – a perfect home for your new pet.

Join us for a peaceful and creative session where you'll have the opportunity to craft your very own Night Guardian - inspired by Dream Catchers from the Ojibwe Tribe of North America. Sense of Place Book Page Art
Old book pages make excellent canvasses for watercolour paintings. This year we’re being inspired by trees and nature. Keep your drawing simple and highlight with watercolours then mount on a piece of coloured card ready to frame at home.

Fast Wheels...
Get ready to race with your own handmade, eco-friendly mini car! Transform everyday recyclable materials into a fun, fast wind-up racing car. Using bottle tops as wheels, simple craft tools and a wind-up rubber band mechanism, you'll build a vehicle that actually moves-powered by your own DIY engineering!

Lumi Pom Poms
Make your encampment shine with your very own creation! During this session you will be provided with all you need, including expert guidance to make a wonderful set of pompom lights to adorn the inside of your tent or van. Choose from a selection of brightly coloured wool and learn how to create pompoms using a special tool which you then get to take home! Enjoy this relaxed session with like-minded crafters. You’ll soon be hooked!

Flower Crowns with Folly & Bird
Channel your Summer festival vibes by creating a beautiful, everlasting floral crown. In this relaxed session, florist Fiona McKeown will provide a panoply of colourful dried and faux flowers,and show you how to weave them into a stunning floral crown.

Macrame with The Green House
Join Rebecca from The Green House, a planet-friendly lifestyle store, for a fun and relaxed workshop knotting a macramé plant hanger from recycled yarn. In this session you will learn how to make wrap knots and square knots, and make a funky plant hanger to take home with you.
Suitable for beginners (13 years plus), all materials and tuition provided. This is a pre bookable paid workshop.

'Not quite Air Guitars' The cardboard guitars workshop makes its return to Deer Shed.
Choose your guitar's body shape, colour and add all the mod cons before rocking out in front of the main stage.

Sid the Snail
A fun and creative workshop where kids can turn simple materials into an adorable cardboard snail!
In this hands-on session, children will learn how to cut, shape and assemble corrugated cardboard to craft their very own snail - complete with a spiral shell and cute little antennae.

Cardboard Cameras
Create a fun, pretend cardboard camera using simple craft materials! In this imaginative workshop, children will design and build their own cameras with cardboard, glue and sting. Great for sparking creativity and roll play, perfect for young makers and little photographers.

Bespoke Key Rings
Always a favourite with our Deer Shedders. Whether young or old, there is a design for you to make and keep your car keys, house keys, locker keys safe or just to hang onto your backpack.

Stick People
Get crafty with nature! In this fun, hands-on workshop, children and families will create their own stick people using twigs, wool and simple craft materials. Each character is unique - decorate, wrap and bring your stick figure to life. A playful activity that sparks imagination, storytelling and connection to the natural world.

Digital Art
An opportunity to create your own watercolour masterpiece. Using our iPad to take a photo of your muse - our mini printers will do the rest… Printing a miniature line drawing for you to paint and create your very own wonderful artwork!

Clay Tiles
This workshop first appeared back in 2010. A firm favourite with all Deer Shedders.
Create your very own bespoke Clay tile to take away. We have made one to celebrate the very first Deer Shed but you may be inspired by Moroccan, Italian or Greek designs.

Cardboard Megalopolis
Come together to build a giant, imaginative world from cardboard! In this playful hands-on workshop, festivalgoers of all ages will shape homes, towers and landmarks from giant boxes. Explore creativity, connection and community as we co-create a unique sense of place - one cardboard creation at a time.

Crochet Communal Blanket
Knitted and Crocheted blankets were commonplace back in the 70's! In 2025 we have decided to resurrect this lovely tradition and bring it back to the Deer Shed festival!
An opportunity to learn to crochet or knit the traditional square, ready for our amazing volunteers to sew all the finished squares together to produce a large blanket. Once complete the finished blankets will be parcelled up and sent to charity.

DSF Statues
The DSF Statues are back and this year we're channelling every-ones 'sense of place' to create festival masterpieces!
Explore the Wilderwild and make leaf, bark, feather rubbings, using - yes you have guessed it - upcycled book pages and coloured crayons! Then return to the statue and stick your artwork on.
