Join London based theatre company Moi Ko on an interactive, problem solving promenade theatre quest for all ages:Did the Sun want me (Or did I just Misunderstand?)
Meet Markum, a human-type-thing who has been struggling to survive this strange otherworldly place; meet Person, a human who has just landed in this unusual landscape with no explanation why; hear of Big Doug…the omniscient ruler of the abandoned world.
Together with your help, Markum and Person must journey to uncover the fables of the land, question the weird creatures who live there, find Big Doug and maybe… escape!

Back Chat Brass
1 band. 8 instruments. 100s of venues. 1000s of gigs. Infinite fun.
Expect live music that’s anything but boring. Back for 2025, Back Chat Brass is here with their pop, funk and hip-hop brassy beats to bring the party vibes to the festival on Sunday. Since 2016, the band have been wreaking havoc in venues around the world, coaxing even the most stubborn dance-phobics from their seats with their signature take on your go-to hits. Trust them—the only thing that’ll keep you guessing is which big banger is coming up next.

Freaks of Fae
We’re the Freaks of Fae, a curious crew,
With horns on our heads and sparkle in view.
By sunlight we shimmer, by moonlight we glide.
In masks and mischief, we’re hard to hide.
Here, we’ll be drifting through the festival in a whirl of glowing walkabouts and fae-fuelled wonders. This interactive spectacle lights up both day and night with bold processions of shimmering lights and theatrical mischief. Keep your eyes peeled for a mystical wonder of masquerade rams, dancing zebras, and rogue unicorns—all dressed in handmade costumes straight from a dream.

The Barmy Butterfly
Flutter into the fantastical world of Rusticus, where the wide-eyed Barmy Butterfly takes flight for the very first time!
She's flapping her wings with giddy delight—but she needs a little help staying airborne. Catch them roaming the arena at Deer Shed Festival, where families are invited to join in with giggles, games, and a blooming good time!

The Hare & the Moon
Meet adventurous Hare and her friend, gentle Moon, as they roam around Baldersby Park.
These enchanting, illuminated characters are keen to make new festival friends as Hare explores and makes new discoveries. Can you help Moon to take care of Hare and ensure that she does not stray too far?

The Botanist
Walk into the fantastical world of Rusticus, with the ever-zealous Victorian Botanist.
Hot on the trail of rare flora and fauna, looking to catch a glimpse of the Barmy Butterfly floating around the arena. Join the Botanist as she wanders the festival, roping in any willing adventurers to assist!

The Spirits of this Land
A playful group of nature sprites will be roaming around Baldersby Park this year. Infinitely curious about their human guests, they may well have a song or story to share, and perhaps a game for you to join in with!

One Bum Cinema Club
Jump in, settle down and enjoy some handpicked animations, suitable for ages 1 to 101!
The One Bum Cinema Club is a great way to discover the potential of animation as an art form. With short contributions from some of our favourite animators, we’re sure you’ll have a swell time in our little cinema! So sit back, push the big button to start, and enjoy your own mini screening.

Markum & Person
Discover the weird and wonderful characters of Moi Ko’s promenade quest - Did the Sun want me (Or did I just Misunderstand?)
Listen to their tales, sing their songs and remember their tips and tricks… The characters will walking be around the arena, giving you plenty of time to make friends with main characters Markum and Person.

Thunk-It Theatre
We welcome Thunk-It Theatre back to Deer Shed for 2025. Everyone has a story to tell—and Thunk-It Theatre works to make sure people from all walks of life have the chance to be heard. The company connects communities by getting creative and having a good ol’ natter! Since 2020, the CIC has been creating family theatre with accessibility at its core, with past shows including New Girl and Common Ground.
We are delighted to have Thunk-It Theatre back onsite with a performance for younger and SEND members of the audience.

Stockeld Park
Stockeld Park is a fabulous all-weather family attraction near Wetherby in Yorkshire.
Adventure across high-level walkways and down spiralling tunnel slides as you journey through four interconnected worlds of space, air, jungle, and ocean.
We’re thrilled to welcome the Stockeld team back onsite this year, where they’ll be lighting up the night with spectacular visuals from their winter light illuminations. Try and hold off Mum or Dad putting you to bed early on Friday night—you’ll want to catch these glowing displays in action across Baldersby Park!

The Dear Post
In an age of instant messaging and whatever these new-fangled TikToks are, good old snail mail still holds a special place in our hearts... So much so that we’ve continued our own on-site messenger service! Swing by our Dear Shed Post Office (get it?) for all your hand-delivery needs and celebrate the weekend with friends and family by sending them a postcard from right here at the festival.

The Glittering Grove
Glittering Grove is an enchanting playful light installation brought to you by artist Dan Fox. Thousands of specks of light dance across the paths, creating an enveloping world of glittering loveliness.
Artist Dan Fox is the Director and founder of Sound Intervention. Dan Fox is a musician, film-maker and installation creator based in south Cumbria, England.

The Sanctuary Zone
Leeds City of Sanctuary will be providing a Sanctuary Zone onsite at the festival. It’s a space for arts and crafts, as well as learning resources for young people on what it means to be a sanctuary seeker living in the UK.
This space will be run by those who have sought sanctuary themselves, supported by a number of organisations from Leeds who are part of the City of Sanctuary network.

Crazy Golf
The thrilling mash-up of crazy and golf at a festival. Enough said. Find out more at the Crazy Golf space at Deer Shed!
So for those budding golfers amongst you practice or show off your skills just don't try to hit a Rory McIlroy hole in one as you might be spending the whole festival searching for your golf ball. It’s the perfect activity for the whole family.
