It's not often you remember where you were the first time you heard a particular artist. Very rare, and probably even more rare that it was somewhere on the M11. But so it was with RÓIS.

An Irish artist who may well have taken traditional folk as a starting point, but has painted selectively over that canvas so many times as to be almost unrecognisable.

There is an encouraging and increasing amount of music about at the moment that one might call 'experimental', and as A.I. takes hold in music creation we are going to even further appreciate these remarkable records when we hear them, on the M11 or otherwise.

A real gem, and a top DSF pick for me.
