Anchorsong is the stage name of Masaaki Yoshida, a Japanese-born, London-based electronic music producer and solo live act renowned for his immersive and rhythmic compositions. One of very few artists who, Jamie XX style, turns to the Akai MPC beat making gizmos as the foundation of his recorded and live output.

The difference from all other users of said device is that most of what he plays on it, he does so live, rather the being sequenced. Geek factoid.

By all accounts this makes for rather amazing live performances. There is certainly a lot of YouTube live footage showing off his skills. I especially like these ones with the strings. Do check this vid out. Super chill.

Masaaki has played Deer Shed before, and made a huge impact on people we know who we didn't consider to be huge fans of electronic music. Always a good sign.
