Now here is an interesting band, Honesty from Leeds, an experimental music collective. Arthouse - as applied to music.

With four core members - George Mitchell, Matt Peel, Josh Lewis and Imi Marston – and a rotating cast of collaborators, HONESTY has emerged as an exercise in doing things differently. The project was born in 2020, initially as a remedy to Matt and Josh’s frustrations with the creative restrictions of their previous bands. Out went defined parts and play-by-numbers riffs, in came fluid roles and studio experimentation.

If we had to pin it down we'd say electronic shoegaze.

Their early 2024 album release, entitled simply BOX, is a 40 min continuous mix of instrumentals, remixes, and new material, featuring spoken word appearances from Florence Shaw (Dry Cleaning), as well as verses from rising UK rappers Rarelyalways and Kosi Tides. The mix ventures further into HONESTY’s introspective, subversive, melting-pot version of club music, a journey continued by new single 'NO RIGHT 2 LOVE'.

It all makes for quite refreshing listening.
