Jedi Fight Academy
For the first time we welcome Andrew Lawden and his Jedi Fight Academy to Deer Shed Festival. This year ,is the 25th anniversary of "Star wars -Phantom Menace -Episode 1 " , which features Actor , Andrew Lawden.
Currently appearing in "another galaxy far , far away " , Adam Deacon's comedy "Sumotherhood " (National film award Nominee),a new comedy on a local housing estate. Andrew brings his lightsaber skills to Deer Shed, teaching fighting routines from the film in his class. For anyone from 0-100 years sign up and learn the skills with the master himself to become a true Jedi Master.

At a time when Google maps, Sat Nav, GPS and the internet have changed our navigational and research skills, the days of Atlases, and encyclopedias have become obsolete. Here at Deer Shed we have taken these beautiful old maps and come up with a lovely recycling project for the future...

Bespoke Brooches
Create a brooch knitted by the traditional French knitting method.
Choose from a variety of wools and complete the look with a colourful button. A project you could take away and complete whilst listening to your favourite music then bring it back to the workshop to finish and attach the button and brooch back.F,DI.
Macrame with The Green House
Join Rebecca from The Green House, a planet-friendly lifestyle store, for a fun and relaxed workshop knotting a macramé plant hanger from recycled yarn. In this session you will learn how to make wrap knots and square knots, and make a funky plant hanger to take home with you.
Suitable for beginners (13 years plus), all materials and tuition provided. This is a pre bookable paid workshop.£,PB.
Space Helmets & Alien Heads
A creative and fun project, unlocking those crazy imaginations!
A chance to work together, using recycled materials to create unique Space Helmets that NASA would be proud of, then transform another box into an Alien Head to scare even the bravest of cybermen!F,DI.
Cigar Box Guitar Jamming
Lazy Dog Guitars design and manufacture 3,4 and 6 string guitars following the principles associated with the Cigar Box guitar ethos. Building them from whatever you can! From genuine cigar boxes, wine cases to skateboards and Jerry-cans, our instruments are unique looking but also fully functioning.
Join Andrew for a jamming workshop in the evenings at Deer Shed, to learn more about these guitars and have a go at playing.F,DI.
Rocket Take Off
Paper rockets, either using our template or creating your own, draw and decorate your very own NASA space rocket out of paper or lightweight card. Using a straw, blow and launch your rockets into outer space!

3-2-1-Blastoff
A great fun activity to recycle those paper hot drink cups.
Get creative and transform an old paper cup into an aerodynamic space rocket. Use a further cup and an elastic band to launch those rockets into Space!F,DI.

Collective Festival Blanket
Knitted and Crocheted blankets were common place back in the 70's! In 2024 we have decided to resurrect this lovely tradition and bring it back to the Deer Shed festival!
An opportunity to learn to crochet the traditional square, ready for our amazing volunteers to sew all the finished squares together to produce a large blanket. Once complete the finished blankets will be parcelled up and sent to Martin House.F,DI.

The Colouring Station
This year at Deer Shed we wanted to create a relaxing space for you to take off your shoes lay on the floor and just draw, doodle or colour. We decided to create a large floored doodle scape for Sunday at Deer Shed, where you can practice a bit of mindful colouring, relax and par-take in a calming activity for the whole family.F,DI.
