Sean Gannon (The Magic Numbers) and Darren Morrissey (Morrissey & Marshall) serve as the central pillars of Two Canoes, orchestrating a musical collective that goes beyond conventional band dynamics. Their musical collaboration which grew from a friendship, forms a sturdy foundation, creating a stage for the ever-evolving ensemble that imparts a rich tapestry of variety and dynamism to their live performances. In the spirit of a vibrant musical cooperative, Two Canoes adapts seamlessly to different venues, embracing the essence of a lively Irish session where the band's energy can swell organically through audience participation.

While on tour and with a day off in Edinburgh, Sean and Darren, driven by their love for Irish folk standards and the more lively improv of the live session, embarked on a quest for a Bodhrán for Seán. This marked the genesis of a musical journey. Upon their return to London, the duo's musical bond evolved into regular sessions, cultivating a musical connection that would become the heart of Two Canoes. Their inaugural performance, fittingly on St. Patrick's Day in a lively North London pub, set the stage for an exciting collective musical experience, continuing the tradition of London as a hub of Irish Trad Music.
