A new artist to me. When I first heard Trout I noted down 'the Steve Reich of slacker indie' after listening to Bugs.

An insightful and instinctive one liner by yours truly? Nothing that survives a two listen.

Trout’s very first song, Bugs, is in fact "an ode to the productivity of the tiniest creatures on the earth"

There is definitely a sonic expertise and maturity to the production on Trout's track, one might notice, and interestingly Trout has synaesthesia.
