Catch the Poet Laureate reading and in conversation at the Deer Shed when he sits down with Dave Simpson, The Guardian’s northern music writer, to discuss what Armitage calls the ‘twilight zone’ where poetry and song lyric converge.

Armitage has explored this territory most recently for some key projects as Laureate by writing, recording and performing with the ‘ambient post-rock’ band LYR. He will also read from his collection of lyrics, Never Good with Horses, which celebrates his ear for the music of language, and from Blossomise, an instant Sunday Times bestseller this year.
