Our Perfect Yorkshire Holiday, What's Yours?
Deer Shed Festival takes place at the start of the summer holidays and right in the middle of stunning North Yorkshire countryside, so why not turn an amazing festival weekend into an equally amazing summer holiday by extending your stay in Yorkshire after Deer Shed has packed away.
North Yorkshire isn't just about fantastic adventures in our two national parks, nearby cities like Leeds and York offer super cultural experiences too.
So we have put together our dream Yorkshire holiday, based around starting the week at Deer Shed and moving on elsewhere to enjoy all that this fantastic part of the world has to offer...
Our dream week in Yorkshire (your dream week may differ - see long list below for alternatives!)
- Friday - Deer Shed (obviously)
- Saturday - Deer Shed (obviously)
- Sunday - Deer Shed (obviously)
- Monday - Off to the coast to Robin Hood's Bay, walk some of the Cleveland Way rounded off with visit to Whitby for fish and chips tea and quick whizz around the penny slots.
- Tuesday - Over to Dalby Forest for tree top adventures at Go Ape and/or some amazing graded mountain bike trails and skills park action.
- Wednesday - Let's go highbrow - a trip down to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park followed by a visit to The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.
- Thursday - A morning at Bradford's National Science and Media Museum followed by retail therapy - vintage clothes shopping Leeds (they have a branch of COW), tea at Zaap Thai (very groovy) followed by an evening gig at Brudenell Social Club (the nation's best venue).
- Friday - Early start wild swimming at Loup Scar in the dales before heading back towards Ripon for high thrills at Lightwater Valley theme park.
- Saturday - Thrilling adventures at Brimham Rocks, perhaps followed by exploring The Forbidden Corner calling in at Brymor Ice Cream on the way over (or the Theakston brewery tour in Masham!)
- Sunday - Call into York Railway Museum on the way home!
That is a great faff free holiday!! Not an airport in sight.
