The Hideaway

During your stay at Deer Shed, your wellbeing is our wellbeing. That’s why we’ve filled The Hideaway with everything needed to maintain full holistic happiness!

Wingardium Levi-Yoga

Wingardium Levi-Yoga

As returning Deer Shedders will know, we challenge ourselves each year to invent loads of brand new, never-tried-before yoga experiences. JK Rowling’s wizarding creation is surely one of Gen Y and Gen Z’s most loved series of literary fiction so, at Deer Shed 10, it only makes sense to let you take part in Harry Potter-themed yoga! Mimic the movements required to cast the best spells and learn our brand new wizarding yoga positions: the Whomping Willow, the Aragog, the Hungarian Horntail and many more.

Yexit

Brexit Yoga

Inspired by this hilarious sketch from Australian comedian Sammy J, we’ve taken the brave decision to launch actual Brexit Yoga (Broga – see, we can make obscure portmanteaus too) classes at Deer Shed 10. No matter which side of the debate you’re on, it’s safe to say the process of leaving the EU has left us all anxious and exhausted, with higher blood pressure than ever. Did you know the word “yoga” is actually Sanskrit for “union” – uh oh! Banish those infamous Theresa May robotics in favour of full freedom of movement this summer.

Go Yoga - Gen X Rave

Go Yoga - Gen X Rave

Ask any avid music fan from Gen X, Y or Z and they will almost certainly tell you their era had the best tunes. The consensus usually goes that The Beatles are the best band that ever lived (we’ll just about give you that one, Gen X), but all the other spots are up for grabs. For those who’d also add Bee Gees, The Rolling Stones, Queen and Abba to that list, the Gen X Rave is purpose built for you! Join the Go Yoga DJs to relive the glory days of the ‘60s & ‘70s, all while maximising your mental and physical wellbeing.

Go Yoga – Gen Y Rave

Go Yoga – Gen Y Rave

Ok, Gen X, we’ve given you The Beatles, but The Rolling Stones? It can be hard to rave along without worrying Keith Richards might pop a hip. For your own good, Keith, take up yoga! We sometimes get asked, only half in jest, to book U2. Short of having Bono and the Edge strutting around Baldersby Park, the Gen Y Yoga Rave is the next best thing. Listen to the Go Yoga DJs blast out the best ‘80s and ‘90s classics – from Soft Cell to Prince, Blur to Britney – to awaken your inner retro raver, without popping that hip…

Go Yoga – Gen Y Rave

Go Yoga – Gen Z Rave

All right, cool kids, we get it, Soft Cell is sooo last millennium, but we’re still struggling to know what constitutes ‘down with the kids’ these days. We’ll be stepping away from the speakers for the Gen Z Yoga Rave and letting the next generation of Go Yoga DJs take their rightful place in the DJ booth. As such, we’ve invited Go Yoga’s youngest and most happenin’ practitioner to lead the Gen Z Yoga Rave. You didn’t really expect us to be at the front spinning Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Childish Gambino did you? That requires a standard of coolness that we simply don’t meet, but the cool kids will take you from Gen Z to Gen Zen in no time!

Meno Yoga

Go Yoga – Meno Yoga

Menopause, even in 2019, can still be a taboo subject which many people feel uncomfortable discussing. Almost half of women report feeling depressed as one of their menopausal symptoms and many don’t even know what they’re experiencing until a doctor points it out. Enough. The Hideaway will host yoga classes specifically focused on moves that relieve the pain and discomfort often caused by menopause, whilst increasing understanding and opening up the discussion around women’s lived experiences.

Unicorn Yoga

Unicorn Yoga

The word ‘unicorn’ has been corrupted a bit since Brexit (don’t worry, this is the last time I’ll mention the B-word). In 2019, it’s difficult to separate connotations of the original mythical horses from an absurd political idea with no basis in reality (thanks for ruining unicorns for us, Boris). Well, we’re tired of such magical beasts being constantly associated with our politicians’ failures and we’re reclaiming the word for the next generation of Brits, starting with unicorn yoga classes at Deer Shed 10!

Prime Wellbeing Massages

Headphones Walkabout Rave

Guilty Pleasures Walkabout Rave

Sometimes your schedule is just too busy to find time for a proper dance. That can be true at Deer Shed too with the mass of performances, workshops and activities scheduled. That’s why Guilty Pleasures Walkabout Rave will come to you! It’s basically a huge conga through Baldersby Park, but with much better dance moves and the tunes you love fed through headphones.

High Rise Yoga with Jemima Knight

Jemima Knight – High Rise Yoga

What’s the first thing you naturally do when you wake up in the morning? Stretch, of course! Eurorack Yoga

Go Yoga – Eurorack Yoga

DivKid is the grubby and overly critical cartoon offspring of producers Ben Wilson and Andrew Illingworth. We couldn’t afford an appearance from Divward, but Ben the modular synthesis wizard has kindly agreed to fill his shoes. Together we’ll present a world premier fusion of Eurorack and yoga... Euroga? Moditation? Whatever you call it, recharge with Ben’s relaxing soundscapes in the background.

Hot tubs

Hot tubs

Soak up the stunning North Yorkshire scenery during your very own festival spa session. Atop the rolling hills of Baldersby Park sit our brand new wood fired, eco-friendly hot tubs, waiting for you, your family and friends (or just you – we won’t judge) to sit back, sip something sparkly and submerge yourselves in total tranquillity. Our friends, The Log Company, will look after you for the duration of your stay. Book a place in your own little oasis here.

Silent Yoga with Go Yoga

Go Yoga – Silent Yoga

Silent yoga is much the same idea as a silent disco, except there’s less dancing and more mindful relaxation, stretching and exercise. We’ll provide you with a set of headphones to listen to the awe-inspiring music of the Go Yoga DJs whilst being talked through some amazing moves by the Go Yoga instructors.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi

Tai Chi, short for tai chi chuan, is a gentle form of exercise that concentrates on controlled breathing, deep relaxation and flowing movements. It was originally developed as a martial art in 13th Century China but is now practised all across the world. For 2019, Tai Chi is landing in Baldersby Park. If the classic sports like football aren’t your thing, Tai Chi might just be your new favourite way to exercise.
