Singer, songwriter and producer Steven Bamidele has had quite the journey. Born in Nigeria before moving to Suffolk, then Brighton and London where he’s now based, Steven’s formative upbringing is reflected in his sound.

Lyrical themes of racial identity, location and family float atop intricate compositions of found sound, reverb soaked synths and syncopated, staccato beats to create Steven’s signature take on forward-thinking, psychedelic soul music.

Taking as much inspiration from R&B icon Marvin Gaye as he does from German dance duo Modeselektor, Steven has created something fantastic and we’re so glad he’s making Deer Shed his home for the weekend.
